ADHD Assessment
You can be doing well on paper and still find everyday demands exhausting. An ADHD assessment can help you understand difficulties with time management and emotion regulation, and their impact on school, work, relationships, and everyday life.
ADHD assessment with Rachel Honig
I’m a licensed mental health counselor providing ADHD assessments for adults and young adults through ATTN Center in New York City. We explore time management, emotion regulation, and the impact of ADHD on school, work, relationships, and everyday life. We also look at how these patterns developed over time.
What the evaluation considers
Your history and everyday experience
Clinical interviews explore attention, impulsivity, activity level, time management, emotion regulation, and other executive-function difficulties. We discuss developmental and academic history, current demands, and the strategies you have used to get by.
Standardized assessment tools
Rating scales and other assessment tools add information to your clinical history. Results are interpreted together with the interview and professional judgment, rather than treated as a diagnosis on their own.
Other explanations and overlapping concerns
Attention difficulties can have more than one explanation. The evaluation considers factors such as anxiety, mood, sleep, and other health concerns that may resemble or occur alongside ADHD.
Findings and practical next steps
We discuss what the findings mean and recommendations for appropriate support. The purpose is to understand your difficulties and help guide decisions about treatment and everyday strategies.
Questions before you begin
Who is this for?
Adults and young adults seeking clarity about possible ADHD, including people whose difficulties have become more apparent as academic, work, or personal demands have changed.
What if I need documentation for a specific purpose?
Tell me what you need before scheduling. We can discuss the scope of the evaluation and whether it fits your needs, including whether a different type of assessment would be more appropriate.
