Rachel Honig, LMHC
Adult ADHD Assessment | ADHD Therapy | Executive Functioning & Skills Training
Rachel Honig is a licensed mental health counselor specializing in adult ADHD assessment, psychotherapy, and executive functioning skills. Drawing on extensive clinical experience working with adults with ADHD, as well as her own lived experience, Rachel combines clinical expertise, practical strategies, and firsthand understanding to help clients navigate ADHD in their professional and personal lives.
Adult ADHD Assessment and Diagnosis
Rachel conducts comprehensive adult ADHD evaluations, integrating clinical interviews, developmental and behavioral histories, standardized assessment tools, and differential diagnosis. Her approach goes beyond identifying symptoms to explore how ADHD affects attention, time management, organization, emotional regulation, relationships, and workplace performance. She helps clients understand not only whether they meet diagnostic criteria for ADHD, but how their individual strengths and challenges shape everyday life.
ADHD Therapy, Skills, and Technology
Psychodynamically trained, Rachel integrates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), evidence-based ADHD strategies, and practical executive functioning skills training. Her work addresses time blindness, procrastination, task initiation, planning, organization, emotional regulation, and the impact of ADHD on confidence, self-esteem, and relationships.
Rachel also incorporates emerging technologies, including AI-powered tools, to help clients overcome everyday barriers, develop personalized systems, and work more effectively with their brains rather than against them.
ADHD at Work and in Relationships
Before earning her master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University, Rachel spent more than 20 years in business, founding and running her own public relations agency and advising executives across industries.
She brings this professional experience to her clinical work, helping adults understand how ADHD affects career development, workplace performance, communication, and professional relationships. She also works with individuals and couples to navigate ADHD's impact on personal relationships, family dynamics, and emotional connection.
Rachel's approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and practical. She helps clients move beyond simply managing symptoms to better understanding their ADHD, recognizing their capabilities, and building skills and systems that support the lives they want to lead.
